See link above for the topics for the year, there are alot of things to study and in hindsight i think I would only cherry pick whar is most relevant at the time. October kind of didnt even happen and I still have the Hajj display up from July!

Anyhoo onward to November and we will continue with talking (not much other stuff being actually producec other that discussions and I gues ill have to be ok with that as a minimum)

January - WINTER

Im glad that I have come back to this blog. I am suffering from the overwhelm of information overload a little bit so this is just what I need. Years after learning about the GTD system and the FLY lady system along with listening to Marie kondo's spark joy ebook I am still managing STUFF. Yeah the paper kind. Now I am older i guess I can plan for things on a yearly basis. God willing it will really allow the routine to reduce the kind of writers block (you know the blank page situation for creative people, I aint no writer) anxiety whilst allowing creativity to be inspired from that structure if that makes sense?

So, January then.
 Each month has 4 weeks planned so that there is lots to do all year. the acadmic year is only 30 something weeks so 12 x 4 is weeks plenty to keep those at home during hols and weekends busy!!!

As part of the winter season the WEEKLY topics for January are:

• Winter
• Electricity
• In the home -Fire and fire safety
• Cities
• Light, dark and shadows 

Suggestions for activities:

Black paper crafts- snow flakes, cityscape and snowscape pictures, shadow tracing, winter animals or cold creatures like penguins, paper plate snowmen,

other info: Martin Luther king day can introduce the topic of peace and British Values (Ofsted requirement)

Perhaps make a baker ross themed craft to finish the topic at the end of the month.

Also produce at least 1 number mini book and one book on the theme.

SUMMER TERM JUNE-AUGUST

Now have a long term plan which is basically monthly topics so from that will plan activities

PLANNING?

My 10 yr old said "it's like a proper school today"
This is because inpired by the 12 work boox system I chose to plan for 6 lessons and put all the resources in the black school bags i
I recently purchased for them.

1 Maths
2 English
3 Science
4 Mental maths and times tables
5 Spelling
6 Handwriting
7 Other subjects

Yesterday we started from science as they went to tuition and surprisingly the work took not much longer that an hour to get almost finished. I then had to pick up the lil fella then dinner maddrassah....

Good start tho at proper homeschooling that is. Well.
The camera's is broken so no pictures.

Need to plan for today's lessons and mark the completed work.
Aim of the day is to get the children to complete all the work in the bag and empty completed in to the blue box for marking. /Here goes.

I have been getting very worried about not getting much (any) homeschooling done of late and doing this plan -at last!- allows me to see what can or should be done in one term. For English and Maths all of the subjects can simply be repeated each term and for science the other topics can be planned in 3 week blocks. Now I can at least think about the other subjects such as DT, ICT, history Geography.....
